A very simplistic definition

marketing (verb)
Making people happy.

Yes, I have a very rosy view of the world. But isn’t this essentially what we’re trying to do?

Perhaps it’s a naive definition, as there are certainly those that are in the game just to profit. But surely the best way to secure a profit is to make people happy.
